The Anne Carry Durland Memorial Alternatives Library is a public resource that promotes and advocates for sustainability, social justice, and the kind of curiosity that can change the world.

You can support our mission by donating in several ways:

1: Donate to our 2025 Every.org Campaign here or by using the button above.

2. Donate cash directly to the library's front desk during regular hours.

3. Donate by check: Durland Alternatives Library is a project of the Center for Transformative Action, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which accepts all funds on our behalf. Please make checks out to the CENTER FOR TRANSFORMATIVE ACTION, with DAL in the memo line. (Having a check made out to CTA/DAL is also acceptable.) You can mail or drop off checks to:

4. Donate books! [Guideline link to follow.] We accept donations of gently used books to consider for our physical collection, our Prisoner Express book mailing program, and for the public on our book "sale" cart in exchange for a small monetary donation. Have more than a few books to donate? Please email alternativeslibrary@gmail.com to arrange a time for an appointment or drop-off.

5. Last but certainly not least, you can simply come visit the library, spread the word about us, and/or volunteer with our Prisoner Express program.
